After a severe mental crisis, I found quality in life.

My name is Poul, and after a severe mental crisis, I discovered the meaning of life. I´m in a great place right now, knowing that I´m making these changes for the rest of my life. And I´m not following a rigid plan, but rather a healthier mindset that allows me to do what I want in life.

I´m 67 years old and have been caring for my wife for many years. She had bipolar disorder, and I was constantly worried about what she would do. Actually, for the majority of my life, I´ve had a very unhealthy mindset that has dominated my happiness and life. And I can honestly say that I have been depressed, which has spread to my wife.

A new year, a fresh start

I decided in January of this year that I needed to change because I was unhappy with my life, and I needed to change things because of my family and grandchildren. I was so depressed that I didn´t want to go visit them because I didn´t want to interact with anyone.

Finding help.

My children told me about Minplan when I was tired and unhappy. It appealed to me because it was evidence-based, aimed at lowering the risk of a personal crisis, and sounded doable. I´ve already gone
to the park and made new friends using my new coping strategies, and I´m thinking about getting a dog. I´ve learned that this is a long-term process, and that making the occasional mistake or deviating from the plan is an opportunity to learn.

What benefits have I seen?

Aside from having a healthy mindset and improved quality of life, I feel better after Minplan, have more energy, and my sleep has improved. Others have commented on how well I look and how bright my eyes are. I enjoy my life, and my focus has shifted to physical and mental health.

Joining Minplan has made a significant difference in my life. I enjoy taking on new challenges and planning healthy lifestyles.

As you can see, I´m content with Minplan. It has been the best investment I have ever made in myself. My children and grandchildren enjoy it as well; it has improved our relationships, and they have assisted me in compiling my Hope book.

Transferable to daily life

Most importantly, I am now confident; I am in a sustainable period and can easily maintain it in my life. I was on vacation in the French Alps about three weeks ago. It was the first time I had traveled in a long time, and it felt liberating. This is what it means to have a good life, and I can´t thank Minplan enough.
